How LeadTaps collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit our website or get in touch.
Last updated: 25 October 2026
1. Introduction and who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how LeadTaps (“LeadTaps”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information when you visit our website or contact us. LeadTaps is a digital marketing service for local service businesses.
The website is operated by Haris Ansari, trading as LeadTaps. For data protection purposes, Haris Ansari is the controller of the personal data collected through this website. You can reach us at any time at info@leadtaps.com.
2. Information we collect
Free audit and contact forms. When you submit a form, we collect your name, work email, business website (optional) and your main goal, together with the time of submission. Enquiries are stored privately in our website’s database so we can review and respond to them.
Emails and other messages. If you email or message us, we receive your contact details and whatever you choose to include.
Technical information. Like any website, our hosting provider receives standard technical data when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device information and the pages requested, in server logs.
3. How and why we use information
- To respond to enquiries and prepare free audits you request.
- To provide, discuss and manage our marketing services.
- To operate, secure and fix problems with our website.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
4. Lawful bases for processing (UK GDPR)
Where the UK GDPR applies, we rely on these lawful bases:
- Steps before a contract / contract — responding to audit requests and providing services.
- Legitimate interests — replying to general enquiries and keeping our website secure.
- Legal obligation — keeping records we are required to keep.
- Consent — for any optional marketing emails or non-essential cookies, if we introduce them. You can withdraw consent at any time.
6. Service providers
We use a small number of service providers who process information on our behalf:
- Website hosting — our hosting provider serves the website and processes standard server log data.
- Website database — private storage of website enquiries. Browser visitors cannot read these submissions.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
7. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described above. Enquiries are kept while we respond to them and for a reasonable period afterwards in case of follow-up; enquiries that do not lead to ongoing work are deleted when they are no longer needed. Records we must keep for legal, tax or accounting reasons are kept for the period the law requires.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it from our systems.
8. Data security
Our website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and access to stored enquiries is restricted. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
9. International transfers
Some of our service providers, such as our hosting and database suppliers, may process information outside your country, for example in the United States. Where the law requires safeguards for these transfers, we rely on appropriate mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent arrangements provided by those suppliers.
10. Your privacy rights
Your rights depend on where you live, but we aim to honour reasonable requests from everyone.
UK and EEA residents have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of their data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) or your local data protection authority.
US residents of states with privacy laws (such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and others) may have the right to know what information we hold, to access, correct or delete it, and to opt out of its sale or use for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information. We will not discriminate against you for using these rights.
Visitors elsewhere may have similar rights under local law. Whatever your location, you can contact us and we will do our best to help.
To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity, and we aim to respond within the time the applicable law requires.
11. Children’s privacy
Our website and services are intended for businesses and are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
